Investment Minister Mahmoud Mohieddin on Sunday 26/10/2008 presented a detailed report to President Hosni Mubarak about the outcome of his Gulf tour which took him to Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman.
The minister returned home on Sunday 26/10/2008 wrapping up his Gulf tour.
The minister, during his tour, conveyed messages from President Mubarak to the leaders of the three countries on arrangements for handling the repercussions of the current international financial crisis.
Mohieddin also held talks in the three countries on means of attracting more Gulf investments to Egypt.
During his visit to Oman, Mohieddin held a series of talks with senior officials on ways of developing bilateral cooperation ties in the economic and investment domains.
The minister discussed with Sultan Qaboos' Advisor for Economic Planning Affairs Mohammed bin al-Zubair joint economic and investment collaboration.
Mohieddin also had talks with Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry & Minerals Maqbul bin Ali Sultan on bilateral ties along with ways of increasing the volume of investments in the two countries, according to the agency.
Mohieddin further reviewed with Secretary-General of the Omani Economy Minister Mohammed bin Nasser al-Khusaibi ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation.
During his visit to Bahrain, the minister held talks on Thursday 23/10/2008 with Bahraini Finance Minister Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohamed al-Khalifa on ways to encourage investments and joint ventures.
The minister also held talks with the executive chief of the National Economic Development Council, Sheikh Eisa bin Hamad al-Khalifa, on establishing joint projects in various fields.
Mohieddin attended a seminar on investments in Egypt that was hosted by the Bahraini Chamber of Commerce and Industry during which he stressed the importance of increasing Arab investments in the Arab world to create more jobs, increase production and exports and shore up the Arab states' economic growth rates in face of the international economic meltdown and credit crunch.
During his visit to Kuwait, the minister met with a number of Kuwaiti officials and attended the opening of the first Kuwait-Egypt investment forum, hosted by Kuwait's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
